Knights of the Vault

Though heavily depleted by raids and a grinding, generational war with Disaren, Evondemor was still able to provide a small militia to the fight against their hated foe. Led by Clay Bourtz and several Abadaran Temple Guard, the militiamen relied heavily on missile weapons and horses, and so were fielded as dragoons.

In the aftermath of the war, Evondemor was able to reclaim miles of land that had been lost years ago. To keep it under his control, Markarius Bourtz knighted many of the men who had served in the dragoons, and gave them the land formerly controlled by the Knights of the Gold.

Though the vault of cursed relics beneath Evondemor was once a closely guarded secret, Disaren’s attacks made it very public. In deference to Evondemor’s sacred charge of the vault’s defense, as well as a nod to the Temple Guard who led the dragoons to war, the new knights were formed into a order that would be called the Knights of the Vault. Their symbol is a crenelated wall with an iron door inset, beneath the four stars on a blue field that symbolizes Evondemor and House Bourtz.
